What His Parents Dared to Ask for Him

“These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar…” —Hebrews 11:13

When I was a boy, I lived in a big house on the southern side of Mexico City. Before the house could be renovated and adapted to our family's needs, brushing my teeth every night required that I pass through my parents’ bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Each night, as I made my way through, I remember listening to my parents pray for me and my siblings. Many years have gone by, but if I close my eyes and think about it, I can still hear their voices lifted to God and saying, “Please use Santy to preach your Word!”

I wasn´t even a Christian at the time, but their prayers were heard! My dad passed away two weeks after Jesus saved me, and it wasn´t until two years later that I preached my first message. That message, in part, was born out of the faithfulness of my parents' fervent prayers.

I'm here today (quite literally) to tell you, never underestimate the power of your prayers!

CHALLENGE:

My parents were laborers in prayer, will you be one too?

Commit to pray for one person until they come to faith in Jesus!
