WHY TO PRAY FOR GOD’S KINGDOM LABORERS

Jesus told us what was on His heart for prayer in Matthew chapter 9:

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”—Matthew 9:37-38

We pray for God’s Kingdom Laborers because Jesus did and asked us to do the same! Jesus also said:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

We have all been equipped by Jesus to become everyday laborers making disciples—no matter where we are—to release Jesus’ Kingdom by loving God and loving others. This is Kingdom advancement!

And, when we pray for God’s Kingdom Laborers, we intimately participate in Kingdom advancement! We are living God’s Word and standing with our brothers and sisters in Jesus to share His love so that more people are drawn to become passionate followers of Christ.

Prayer isn’t just something we do for the work of God; prayer IS part of the work. God is looking to move us from people who pray to people of prayer in ALL we do!

HOW TO PRAY FOR GOD’S KINGDOM LABORERS

  • P-Praise.

Spend time praising God for who He is and what He has done. Praise Him for multiplying the movement of Kingdom Laborers worldwide.

  • R-Repent.

In prayer, God often shines His light on any sin and darkness in our hearts. This is our opportunity to tell Him what is heavy on our hearts and weighing us down and return to Him personally and intimately. Praying for God’s Kingdom isn’t only about asking for what is needed to advance it. It involves removing the things in our hearts that hinder advancement in our everyday lives.

  • A-Ask.

God wants us to seek Him for our needs. God desires to bless us with spiritual “riches” in Christ as we ask Him. Ask for His Kingdom to come empower you and other Kingdom Laborers to live with bold confidence to share Jesus’ love in your everyday life.

  • Y-Yield.

We lean into God as our Father and trust that He knows what is best and will use us as He desires. We yield to His ways more than our own, letting His will flow through our lives.

A SCRIPTURAL BLESSING FOR GOD’S KINGDOM LABORERS

“I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through His Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”—Ephesians 3:16-19 (emphasis added)

WHEN TO PRAY FOR GOD’S KINGDOM LABORERS

James 5:13-18 tells us to pray when…

  • We experience hard things
  • We are happy
  • We are sick

“Never stop praying,” we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

This is all the time! Pray in all circumstances—this is God’s will!

God is looking for Kingdom Laborers everywhere to come together in prayer and ask for More Kingdom Laborers to be raised up for the harvest. He wants us to commune and connect with Him to bring His power for Kingdom advancement, loving God, and loving others into our lives.
