Forge Equipping

Hello Friends and Family!

Thank you so much for your time. I am very excited to share about an upcoming opportunity I have in the summer of 2023.  Throughout my life, I have been provided opportunities to grow my relationship with God. During this next summer, I will be stepping out in faith by participating in Forge Equipping, a five week intensive discipleship program. I first heard about this from the Forge team at Columbia International University (CIU).  

Since then, I have prayerfully engaged in the decision-making process. During discussions with my parents, Giles and Cynthia Phillips, I received encouragement to grow my relationship with Christ and participate in the Forge program. I reflected on how the Lord has led me through my life, sought advice from my mentors and Forge alumni, and considered my future calling.

I am in a transitional part of my life. During spring 2023, I will graduate with my undergraduate degree in Bible and Bible teaching from CIU. By stepping out in faith and joining the Forge program, I hope to find clarity for the next steps in my life. I learned that God has called us to step out in faith to grow the kingdom of God and heed the call.

Forge Equipping is a physically, emotionally, and spiritually intense discipleship adventure hosted by Forge (ForgeForward.org). It's filled with teaching by Forge Speakers, grueling team building, and outdoor adventures. Our destinations include both urban and rural locations where we will experience a variety of ministry opportunities. We will also take part in Forge's summer camp called Deep Camp and go on an international mission trip to unreached people in Mexico.  The whole process is designed to help me engage Jesus’ mission to those around me in my everyday life and to help others do the same.

This is an amazing opportunity filled with exciting ministry and intensive training! I am not sure exactly what to expect, but I'm eager to join God's plan for me this summer. Whatever it is, I will only be able to experience it with the help of others. My first request is that you pray for me as I prepare for this summer discipleship training mission.

1) Pray that the Lord will prepare me spiritually and physically.
2) Pray for the Lord's will to be done in my heart and through me in the lives of the people I connect with
3) Pray that the Lord will provide for every need that arises as I step out in believing in obedience to His plan.

Secondly, I would ask that you consider partnering with me financially on this adventure. The total cost for this program is $6,200. I am confident that God has much to teach me this summer in and through my training at Forge Equipping, and I would ask you to prayerfully consider investing in my life.
