“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” —Colossians 3:17
If you've placed your belief in Jesus, confessed your sins to Him, and answered His call to be His follower, then you're a new person. God has done a new spiritual work in your life. In fact, the Bible calls you a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
So, it shouldn't come as surprise that you need to change a few things in your life. You might not realize it, but your life before Jesus had patterns. You used to do and say things every day that were a reflection of your old life. There were places you went and people you hung out with. All those things added up to be the patterns of your life. It's time to create some new patterns that reflect the new work that God has done—and is continuing to do—in your life.
CHALLENGE:
What old patterns in your old way of living are no longer useful or life-giving and simply need to go?
What new life-patterns is Jesus wanting for you that will give you even more life, joy, and purpose?
