The Mission

Our God is an all-consuming fire, a Forge that is shaping people to have everyday impact for Christ. We challenge and equip people to pursue an intimate relationship with God where they are transformed into Kingdom-building laborers, like strong metal being forged by fire into valuable tools.

For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29 NIV

Forge Speakers travel to various churches and events, and we offer in-depth equipping and coaching programs that prepare youth and adults for ministry wherever God has placed them. We sum up the ministry of Forge with two simple phrases: Hearts on Fire through intimacy with God and Lives on Purpose by laboring for the Kingdom.

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-37 ESV

Lives on Purpose
through every day Kingdom impact

Participating in a Forge Equipping Program is about becoming a person who lives a lifestyle of actively listening to and boldly following Christ everyday for the rest of your life. We rely on God and seek to equip people to become active Kingdom Laborers.

Student Policy Manual

Characteristics of a Kingdom Laborer

Although every person is uniquely created and designed by God, we believe there are common characteristics that are shared by every active Kingdom Laborer. As you continue to live out biblical values more and more in your life, we believe that your life will reflect Kingdom patterns. You will act in these ways without even thinking. We believe a Kingdom Laborer is characterized by:

1. Humility

Kingdom Laborers follow in the footsteps of Jesus. They daily submit themselves to God, believing and trusting that His Way is the best way. They also love others and think of others more than they think of themselves. Ultimately, humble Kingdom Laborers represent a strong, loving God to a watching world as Christ did on the cross and in His resurrection.

2. Passion

Kingdom Laborers are so consumed by God and His Kingdom that they can’t help but daily express their zeal for and devotion to Him. They focus on Jesus, the author and Perfector of their faith, and will endure anything for Him and His causes. Passionate Kingdom Laborers are contagious. As they live passionately for Christ, others are deeply impacted.

3. Vision

Kingdom Laborers live their lives on purpose for God. They see God’s vision for the world and understand their daily, practical place in His vision. Even in the smallest and most mundane activities, they are motivated because they see that they are God’s plan for reaching a world that is in desperate need of Jesus. Vision-filled Kingdom Laborers walk in sync with God’s purposes and His loving ways, so the world will see Jesus in all they do.

4. Faith

Kingdom Laborers are continually and confidently taking action to obey God more. They trust God and His Word and will act accordingly, even if it doesn’t seem logical to others. They are always pleasing God because their lives and actions prove that He is alive and real (Hebrews 11:6). They are growing and stretching because they continue to move out of their comfort zones and into more and more obedience to God. Faith-filled Kingdom Laborers will change the world because they are available to be used by God.

General Information

Tuition

See main webpage at ForgeEquipping.com for tuition cost breakdowns. If you have any questions about your tuition cost or fundraising process, feel free to contact Forge Equipping at training@forgeforward.org or call us at 303-745-8191

This tuition cost DOES include room and board. It does not included transportation to and from the training location and your home or any personal expenses students may encounter during the program (e.g. toiletry items, gifts, etc.). However, should a student raise money above and beyond the required tuition cost, reimbursement can be made to cover the cost of their travel to and from the training location. Travel expense receipts must be submitted to Forge before the start of the program to secure this reimbursement. Forge is unable to reimburse excess support raised beyond a student’s travel expenses to attend the program. Excess funding will be transferred to the Student Scholarship Fund to enable the participation of underfunded students.

Student Finances

For financial gifts to be tax-deductible, the IRS requires that Forge exercise full administrative control over donated funds to ensure that they fulfill exempt purposes and programs. To demonstrate that the ministry has control over the tax-deductible gifts received, Forge cannot refund contributions for students that commit to the program and then withdraw or are expelled from the program. If a student withdraws or is expelled from Forge Equipping, Forge will transfer the funds raised into the Forge Equipping Scholarship Fund.

Insurance

Students are required to secure their own personal health insurance coverage for the duration of Forge Equipping. If you do not have a personal health insurance plan, please acquire short term health insurance. One option for this is IMG Mission Trip Insurance. Please make sure that your policy includes the USA and that it is for a minimum of $100,000 in health benefits. The dates of the policy should include travel days.

Release of Liability & Permission Regarding Medical Care

All students will be required to sign a “Release of Liability and Permission Regarding Medical Care” prior to the start of Forge Equipping, which will include, but is not limited to, the following:

Agreement to waive any and all rights and claims for damages against the trip sponsor and its agents, employees, and representatives for any and all injury, damage, or loss sustained by the participants that may arise directly or indirectly out of Forge Equipping.

Agreement that, in the event that one, one’s spouse, one’s parent, or another person should make any claim against the trip sponsor for damage, injury, or loss, arising directly or indirectly out of Forge Equipping, one will personally indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the trip sponsor and its agents, employees, and representatives against any and all such injury, damage, or loss.

Authorization to the Forge Equipping sponsor or their representative to obtain any medical treatment that should appear to be necessary during Forge Equipping, and the agreement on the part of the student for the payment of expenses relating to such illness or injury outside the coverage of the Forge Equipping Insurance Policy.

Crisis Management

Forge has an established organizational Crisis Management Plan that incorporates all the activities related to Forge Equipping. Contingency plans are evaluated and put into place prior to each Forge Equipping program.

Student Disciplinary Action

The Equipping Leadership Team, under the accountability structure of Forge, reserves the right to remove anyone from the Forge Equipping program at any point during the program for violating any of the policies outlined in this handbook.

Alcohol, Tobacco, Drug Usage

The usage of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs by students is not permitted during the Forge Equipping program.

Student Relationships

During your time at Forge Equipping, you will make many close friends. While the desire for a Christian spouse is natural and wholesome, it is our policy that dating relationships not be cultivated while you are a part of Forge Equipping. Male and female students are never to spend time alone together in a secluded area during the duration of the program. Physical touch between students is to be kept to a minimum. Long embraces, kissing, any kind of massaging, etc. between students are not permitted. Integrity is of utmost importance in this area.

Leaving Policy

One of the great benefits you will experience during Forge Equipping is the “break” you have from your everyday routine of life. It is for this reason that we ask students to remain with the team and not plan on returning for home or elsewhere during their time with us. The only exception to this policy would be a family emergency.

Visitors

One of the most beneficial aspects of Forge Equipping is the separation students have for 2 weeks from the all-too-familiar routines of everyday life. This benefit is also noticed in the separation students have from friends and loved ones during this time. For this reason, it is suggested that students not plan to have visitors during Forge Equipping (except for Graduation or Deep Camp participants).

Student Arrival & Departure Information

Students who are flying must arrive at the training city 2 hours before training begins on the first day. If flights cannot be found for this time frame, please email training@forgeforward.org or call 800-873-8957 to discuss an alternative plan. Departure flights from training city MUST be scheduled to depart 2 hours after the final activity on the final day.

Transportation will be provided for students to and from the airport in their training city within these dates and times.

Students who are driving must arrive in training city at the training location no less than 1 hour before training officially begins.
