Encouraging the World
to Live Passionately for Jesus through Intimacy with God
God wasn’t a topic of conversation throughout Melissa’s childhood. In fact, she didn’t find Christ until the age of 27, in 2001, when God stopped her in her tracks and changed everything as a new, stay-at-home mom fresh out of corporate America. She did a 180 and went from running from God to running to God and has been living with Him intimately ever after. Melissa’s heart beats to live in radical obedience and exhort others to do the same. After salvation and a powerful transformation in her own life, she witnessed her husband, mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, children, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers surrender their lives to Christ one by one thereafter. As a gifted storyteller, communicator, and encourager, Melissa allows the Holy Spirit to use her everyday situations and life lessons to bring to life the transforming power of God’s word.
Melissa is a devoted servant of the Lord and a vessel for the Holy Spirit with a life changing story to tell! She has shared the love of Christ and Gospel message at church services, camps, retreats, conferences, youth groups, Bible studies, schools, MOPS groups, leadership gatherings and in one-on-one opportunities to people around the world—including in gas stations and bathrooms! She has ministered throughout the U.S., and in Mexico, Peru, South Africa, India, Ghana, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Her family has also had the honor of being part of the executive team for a church plant in Denver, opening a soup kitchen in Peru, an orphanage in India and a well in Ghana. They live to feed people physically and spiritually around the globe.
Melissa is a graduate of Michigan State University and has a Certificate of Theology through Cornerstone Institute of Ministry. She has been married to her amazing husband, Scott, since 1996, and together they have three grown children. They share a passion for serving the Lord in their local church, community, around the world, and every place in between the Lord takes them. They work hard and play hard and love to explore new tropical destinations via boat at sea, underwater in scuba gear and from sandy seashores—leaving footprints and fingerprints of Christ everywhere they go! Her family strives to live by the words spoken in Joshua 24:15, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
