Forge Equipping:
PACKING LIST
We ask that you pack everything you will need for Forge Equipping in one bag that you can carry yourself. Please remember when you are packing that you will need extra room at the end of the program for books, resources, and any souvenirs that you may accumulate. Please bring an additional small backpack for daily use throughout the program.
General Packing Items
7-9 full sets (shirt, pants/shorts, undergarments, socks) of clothes that you would normally wear. Plan for various climates. South Carolina is hot. Deep Camp is in the mountains where weather is unpredictable (30 – 90 degrees). Mexico will also be hot. You will be able to do laundry.
An additional 2 full sets (shirt, pants, undergarments, socks) of clothes that can get dirty / get paint on them. This must include 1-2 pair of camping pants that can easily dry. (not jeans and not shorts). Wool or Fast Drying Socks are preferred. Also a pair of closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting extremely dirty.
Swimsuit – (For females please ensure it is one piece)
3-4 pairs of comfortable shoes including: 1 pair of cheap shower flip flops, 1 pair of comfortable hiking boots or shoes, 1 pair of sneakers/tennis shoes and optionally 1 pair of high quality sandals such as Chacos or Tevas.
Raincoat AND a Jacket/Hoodie (such as a fleece or windbreaker)
For those traveling to Deep Camp: A warm winter coat or several layers of warm cloths such as a hoodie, a jacket, and a long sleeve shirt. (Your raincoat and fleece can count as two of these layers.
Winter hat and gloves
Personal toiletries including: tooth care, hair care, skin care, eye care, feminine care and so on.
Sunscreen, bug spray, hand sanitizer, lotion and lip balm
Personal First-Aid kit. Something simple such as: bandaids, neosporin (antibacterial gel), and tweezers .
Tissues/Kleenex (personal pack)
Laundry soap. We recommend dry powdered soap
Bible, journal and pen. We recommend keeping your bible and journal in a large ziplock.
Flashlight/headlamp
A “dumb” watch – Something simple that does not connect to your phone or need to be recharged regularly.
Battery-operated alarm clock
Reusable water bottle
Ear plugs
Sleeping Bag AND Sleeping Pad
Bath/Shower Towel
Travel Pillow
A larger school backpack that can fit a couple days of cloths, your toiletries, and an extra pair of shoes
Spending money for souvenirs
Optional Items: a personal camera, guitar, hammock
