On Sunday, June 28th, Agnes Robertson, took the hand of her Savior and stepped into heaven. And here is the part only God could have written: June 28th was Pastor David Lee Robertson (December 16, 1931-June 11, 2025) and Agnes’ 75th wedding anniversary. They were reunited, and oh, the joys they must have shared yesterday in the presence of Jesus. Only God.
If you ever met Agnes, you knew the quiet, unshakable confidence she carried in the Lord. What you may not know is where it came from. Agnes grew up in an orphanage. Her whole life was a living sermon on one verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In her 80s and 90s, she felt she simply had to tell the world what God had done, and she wrote a book, Ten Finger Prayers: The Amazing True Story of How an Orphan Became an Overcomer. She believed it didn’t matter where you came from—what mattered was the God who strengthens you, day by day. More people than we can count walked away from a few minutes with Agnes saying, “If God could do that in her, He can do it in me.”
Many of you knew Pastor David Robertson as the steady, gentle shepherd who cared for our young staff team. In 1994, he and Agnes took an early retirement, left Michigan, and moved to Colorado simply to pour into us—leading the team through whole books of the Bible, sitting across countless breakfast tables, showing up at hospitals when babies were born and when crisis struck.
Throughout their lives, David and Agnes modeled what a life of love truly looks like. In every neighborhood and community they ever lived, they left behind a trail of love. They never chased greatness—they simply lived as servants of a great God, all the way to the finish line. Many of you saw how they loved their Forge Family. They have set a lasting example of living in the light of eternity—finishing the race, and keeping the faith, right to the very end.
God has used Pastor David and Agnes’ lives and story to stir up His fire in many! Perhaps you’re one of them. Will you consider honoring them by joining us in carrying on their legacy?
