“Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom” -Matthew 27:51
I was invited to a Christian concert recently by someone who helps with the promotion, touring and production. Upon arrival, they presented me with an “ALL ACCESS” pass. Boy, did I feel important! I quickly put the All Access Badge around my neck, walked through the back stage area, then around to my seat to watch the concert. Suddenly the house lights dimmed, stage lights came on, and worship broke out, echoing throughout the packed arena.
At one point, a few songs in, people started singing in unison, “You are worthy of it all. You are worthy of it all…” I bowed my head in reverence, surrender and acknowledgement of the holy moment before King Jesus. As I glanced down, the “ALL ACCESS” pass hanging from my neck spoke volumes–probably more so to me personally than it did to others who saw it.
I felt as though the Lord was challenging me with this….”You wear this “ALL ACCESS” Pass around your neck, but you are not using it to the fullest in the special or restricted areas. It's just a badge. You simply have it like a piece of jewelry that you can talk about. You have it ready to grab a quick selfie for a social media highlight reel. My people have the ultimate “ALL ACCESS” pass to me since the veil was torn through the work on the cross, but it is sometimes just a badge they carry and do not use.”
I was immediately reminded of Matthew 27:50-53, “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.”
Let's not just wear a “Christian” badge, use it as a token, or save it for a selfie. He paid the ultimate price for us. Let's take full liberty and authority to go into the Holy of Holies with the Lord every single day.
